Amelia's Party Theme. VIEW FULL GALLERY MOBILE, ALABAMA - This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing one of the pinkest parties ever created. I mean, it was PINK. Almost scarlet in places. The pink party was for Amelia, a two year old who had a meltdown when she saw the top of her cake in flames (two candles). Being that she is two and was sobbing, she didn't realize how gorgeous her birthday cake was - tall, pink, and topped with a beautiful flamingo from Ellen Jay Events. Another thing Amelia doesn't yet realize is how her future is guaranteed to be filled with beautiful parties! Her mom is Blair Gewin, owner of Blair Weddings and Events. Blair's vision for a Flamingo theme was perfectly pulled together from her list of impressive party vendors. Blair and Walter were wonderful Springhill hosts providing their friends with a great start to their Saturday with plenty of champagne, beer, and tea sandwiches served in the no-crust southern style. The children were super happy and their mouths very messy with cupcakes, grapes, goldfish crackers, watermelon on a stick, and juice boxes. I first met Blair, Walter and Amelia - and grandparents - when I photographed her Christening on January 20, 2017 at St. Ignatias in Mobile. For her birthday present, I framed this photo from the Christening: She was a beautiful baby and in a short time has grown into a beautiful little two year old girl who loves parties, especially pink ones! And yes, there were plenty of big, pink bows on little girl heads. I am happy to see that the bow scene has not changed since my girls were small. It was wonderful to see so many in one place this past Saturday. Happy Birthday, Amelia!

Scroll to the bottom of this post to see the wedding vendor list! MAY 12, 2018 MOBILE, AL - The weather on this wedding day was glorious and this couple - Y'ALL - they looked like they were from Hollywood. And actually, Keaton Bass - the groom - IS from California.... born and raised. He is super brilliant: he married a Southern girl from Mobile! Tori Hall (Victoria) grew up in Mobile, graduated from the University of Alabama, and followed her career path to California where she works for Hewlett-Packard. And guess who she met at work? Keaton... her future husband! Tori and her bridesmaids had the gracious use of Bishop Russell Kendrick's beautifully appointed apartment at Christ Church Cathedral for the entire day of the wedding. The groomsmen had roomy space to lounge in the parish hall. The stress level was low with everyone being in one place. Logistics were easy. Tori and Keaton did their "first look" in the beautiful, green Cathedral garden. After several portrait shots we joined the wedding party and walked across the street to Mardi Gras Park and then to Fort Conde for some group shots. I stayed behind with the couple and spent some special time with them in the Fort's courtyard of Ft. Conde. The ceremony was at 6 pm at the Cathedral and the church was full! The Dean of the Cathedral, The Very Reverend Beverly Gibson officiated. After a short but fun trolley ride, the wedding party stepped into Azalea Manor on Dauphin St. "Small Zoo" played at the reception and they were great! The bride's Dad is the lead guitarist and he was amazing! VENDORSAll of the vendors did a marvelous "Mobile" job and the California guests were given a great Mobile experience! Congratulations to Tori and Keaton!
