THE POWER OF VIRAL VIDEO

Mary Bourne Roberts and her Dad, Jim Roberts, had always planned to dance at her wedding.  They had been dancing since she was 3. And their dream came true less than two weeks before Jim passed away.  The wedding was December 29, 2018.  I videoed the dance, as I always do with the bundled packages, and posted it on my Blue Room Photography Facebook page on January 3, 2019.  In less than 24 hours it had gone viral, eventually amassing over three million views!  The studio was jammed with requests for permission to repost or broadcast the video, or interview the bride and groom and family.  For four weeks I fielded requests and found myself many times pulled over in a parking lot sending links to corporate broadcast and online magazine companies.   See the video below.

The video gained traction with more and more many media outlets sharing the video.  Then one morning I received a call from an "Ellen" show staffer who said Ellen DeGeneres wanted to invite Mary Bourne and her new husband on her show!  After a preliminary Facetime interview, Mary Bourne and James were  invited to fly to Hollywood and be on the show!   And at the end of the interview they were presented with a check for $25,000 to cover their moving expenses incurred when they moved to be close to her Dad in his final months.

 It has been 14 months and I am still receiving the occasional request for permission to share the video.  Its been an amazing experience being part of a global, viral video! 

Several of the many media outlets the video appeared on are listed below.  These were just in the first week!  There are so many others... I hope to find time to go back and list the rest.  Its really amazing.
